Description
Our client is a leading innovative manufacturer of closed-cell foams and adhesive foam tapes (PVC foam, Polyester Foam and Adhesive Tapes). They provide solutions in gaskets for sealing, cushioning, insulating and protecting. They design and supply custom foams and adhesive tape products for a wide variety of applications used among a cross section of industries including automotive, industrial, construction, heating and air conditioning, weatherstripping, recreational vehicle, electronics and medical.
They are looking for a Regional Sales Person, specifically someone who is willing to be in front of the customers. This position is hands on their product is a Technical Sale. The typical week for the salesperson will be travel from Monday through Thursday, with an office day on Friday. Candidate will work out of their home, laptop and blackberry provided. Top sales people are making over $100K.
Not interested in candidates from the packaging industry. They want candidates who will go face to face with clients on a regular basis and who are not opposed to the 4 days of travel. Territory includes: Texas, Mexico, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma & New Mexico. Candidate must live in one of the territory states, strong preference for someone in the Dallas / Fort Worth area due to ease/cost of air travel.
Job Title: District Sales Manager
Reports to: Director Sales & Marketing
Responsible for developing and maintaining sales growth and customer base with an emphasis on long-term account and market penetration. Provides training and assistance to field sales force on selling points of companys specialty tapes and adhesives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ongoing analysis of competition affecting specialty tapes and release liners. This includes market image, price structure, products offered, production capabilities and support services. Also includes both direct competitors and manufacturers of related products.
Ongoing analysis of company capabilities and strengths for the purpose of developing sales strategies in relation to competition.
Develop an in-depth sales projection of the coming years business by month, prospects and potential new market penetrations which is due in December of each year. Report is based on a compilation of projections from the sales force, economic factors and company capabilities. This report serves as the basis for the coming years planning and budgeting in all departments.
Provide assistance to Director Sales & Marketing regarding ongoing recruitment of direct employees and commissioned independent sales representatives.
Administer training programs covering specialty tapes and release liners that assure all members of the sales department have a thorough knowledge of company policies, products, procedures and pricing. Make new sales personnel aware of market strategies and commonly encountered product applications in an effort to quickly acclimate them to the sale department. Provide for field training of newly hired sales personnel and regularly update training of existing personnel in the field.
Actively work in the solication, development and maintenance of target and house accounts that require management participation.
Evaluate new market and product opportunities on an ongoing basis for the purpose of maintaining a mix of profitable market products in our line.
Assist in booth management at trade shows. This includes determination of industries in which we choose to show, choosing specific shows for participation, purchase and maintenance of booths, and general administration of show activities.
Communicate on subjects as required and on a regular basis to both the Director Sales & Marketing and supervised employees. This related to any changes in policies or strategies, expectations or market conditions.

This position has the responsibility and authority to identify and record problems relating to quality and to initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designed channels.
