Job Type: Full Time
Job ID: W4141626

I'm partnered with the senior management team at this international vendor of data and information with a small local office to find the 2nd product manager for a large suite of related software offerings. They have a huge amount of business, and the one existing senior product manager needs help. This would be an excellent opportunity for a junior- to mid-level software product manager who wants more responsibility.

From the hiring manager: "This role requires a balanced commitment towards our stable of mature products and developing new products. We have some exciting new product development in the roadmap. Supporting the mature products requires working with our sales team, our prospects and customers and our tech support team. The role requires one to don multiple hats and being a “sales engineer”, “solutions expert”, “subject matter expert”  are all part of the job along with product design, project management, competitive market analysis  etc. etc. A product manager has to think like a GM or CEO of a product."

I’m Phil Hurd, the principal of Oculus Search Partners. Software professionals have trusted me as their recruiting partner for 30 years because:
  • Expertise. I earned a BSEE and MSEE, and was a computer engineer before becoming a search and placement professional. You’ll be represented by someone who understands what you do, and knows how to leverage that understanding to create opportunities for you.
  • Reputation. Over 60 LinkedIn recommendations attest to my integrity and effectiveness.
  • Network. I have personally placed, or been involved with placing, several thousand software engineers over my career, and have built a deep network with VPE’s, CEO’s, HR, etc. I can not only open doors for you, but can help you improve your resume, prepare you for interviews, and help you negotiate a strong offer package.
  • No BS. I don’t like when a salesperson pressures me, and I’m sure you don’t want that from a recruiter. You’re a professional, so am I, and my approach reflects that philosophy. And specifically, I will NEVER submit your resume to any company without prior discussion and buy-in from you.
  • Respect. I never forget that this is your job search, and your life, and our interactions will reflect that philosophy.
