We’ve been engaged by an exciting start up in Boston to help find a new Product Owner who is passionate about identifying challenging problems and crafting simple, creative solutions to help build and growth several product lines and drive business. The product owner will be taking from its infancy (already developed and in pilot mode) and move it through the full product lifecycle, responsible for design, content, manufacturing, communication, creativity and all other things related to product and platform evolution.
Phase One is complete! The customer base has been identified, all (initial) high level problems have been identified and solutions have been validated. The customer experience thus far has been overwhelmingly great, and the selected product manager will be in position to make it even better! Working with a cracker jack technical engineering team and a slew of complex systems and tools, the PM will facilitate the next rounds/iterations of our industry changing products!! This is a rare opportunity to take a product from infancy into a scalable successful business.
What the Product Manager will be doing:
  • Own success of the product funnel and offering
  • Refine how to address our target audiences, both internal users/owners and customers/consumers
  • Map product and client needs into product requirements  and own the backlog of issues
  • Collaborate with UX, Design and Engineers to optimize solutions and experiences
  • Partner with business to position, promote and scale this product into the portfolio of other products
  • Communicate product direction, development, and value across the organization
Desired / Suggested Experience:
  • 3-5+ years of experience owning a complete product lifecycle
  • BS in Marketing, Technology, Communications or the experience that’s worth more than the degree
  • Analytic mindset with a methodical approach and a focus on data for decision making
  • Passion for technology and tools to enhance your job and approach to your job with interpersonal and communication skills that allow you to engage with customers and users
  • Results oriented approach to all you do
  • Focus on customer development and customer experiences
  • Full product lifecycle experience from idea to iterations through delivery and experience
  • See challenges as an opportunity for creative problem solving and opportunity for improvement
  • Enjoy problem solving through collaboration and teamwork  
  • Understand and excited about the connection between physical and digital product experience
  • Knowledge and experience working in an Agile environment
  • Combination of experiences including Start Ups and established companies
  • Track record of successfully enhancing measurable product improvements
  • Product Management experience in retail a plus
  • Equally comfortable working with the engineers and the marketers (and everyone in between)
  • Experience with analytics and performance marketing efforts
  • Comprehension and understanding of mobile marketing etc.
  • Experience in executing growth and retention marketing efforts
