Lead the Direct to Consumer & Advocacy/Community marketing strategy and team; directly reports to the US Senior Director of Marketing
Support the short and long term DTC strategies and tactical planning, including the annual franchise plan of action (FPOA) and consumer market expansion.
Develop targeted consumer approaches for personal and non-personal promotion across infectious disease at-risk populations (e.g., at-risk men who have sex with men, heterosexual women and transgender populations) and through effective marketing and channel mix, including print, digital, social media, out-of-home and CRM.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with the infectious disease Prevention/ advocacy and community thought leaders, key customers and Community based Organizations (CBOs)
Optimize DTC media channels and mix, including digital, social, print and targeted television
Develop effective, cultural competent consumer materials and messaging to meet the educational needs of consumers and community partners
Collaborate closely with infectious disease treatment DTP Director and Promotions Lead and among cross functional team to ensure coordinated efforts
Provides leadership and support to the overall DTC team and develops, coaches and manages performance of direct reports
Effectively translate market research insights into promotional strategies and tactics.
Closely manage integrated consumer promotions and media budget
Oversee all agency relationships and performance
Develop and deliver presentations to a range of internal (executives, US leadership team, sales) and external audiences
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and policies
This position is being posted at the Director Level. However final determination of level and title will be based on candidate qualifications.
High performing DTC/DTP marketer with the ability to set a vision and provide direction across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Strategic thinker with innovative mindset and can make decisive decisions and recommendations among a set of key strategic choices.
Must have an entrepreneurial thinking and be confident working within a fast paced and challenging environment.
Adept at forming and maintaining a collaborative work environment within cross functional teams.
Demonstrated leadership and management experience is required.
Must have a track record of successful pharma/biotech /consumer patient/community marketing with an understanding of expense budget planning, tracking and ROI measurement.
Recognized expertise in implementing a pharmaceutical brand and communication plan of action, and consumer/ patient targeting and activation.
Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials is required.
Specific Education and Experience Requirements
10+ years of marketing experience, primarily within pharma/biotech.
A minimum of 5 years in product marketing or advertising focused on consumers and/or patients are recommended.
MBA preferred, Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related fields required.
Proven track record of leading franchise and brand promotion and achieving aggressive growth goals.
Firm command of financial management with an understanding of revenue forecasting and expense budget planning and tracking.
Prior advertising, digital or communications agency experience a plus.
