HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR duties on a professional level and supports the Human Resource Manager. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration (minimal), onboarding, policy implementation, hourly recruitment, payroll administration, record keeping, and employment law compliance.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts internal and external recruitment and interviewing efforts for all nonexempt personnel, students, and co-op employees
Orientates new hires (new hire paperwork)
Ensure all performance appraisals are complete and logged in to the hourly workforce
Administer merit and step progression increases; ensure all increases entered/uploaded into payroll system
Maintains an open dialogue with all employees across all shifts so that when questions or concerns arise they may be addressed with a level of trust & confidence.
Employee communications, job postings, functions & events
Assists with benefits issues, questions, & open enrollment
Processes all pay/information change requests in a timely manner
Manage entire payroll process to submit to the corporate office.
Run requested reports as needed for management (attendance, vacation, FML, etc.)
Enters new hire information into HRIS database
Communicates and trains others in changes to programs
Enters and tracks vacation accrual for hourly & salary employees
Monthly absenteeism tracking for hourly personnel – distribution of appropriate corrective actions.
Processes weekly transactions related to the plant uniform program through Cintas. Responds to employee questions, concerns, and communicates regularly with the Cintas Generalists. Reconcile invoices and watch for credits and track accordingly.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in the area of Human Resources or at least 3 years of progressive HR generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
SHRM certification desired
Knowledge of legal aspects of HR, including state/federal and local statutes
Must have a solid understanding of all areas within the HR function
Good communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
Excellent computer skills and demonstrated proficiency with MS-Office
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Understands payroll processing (i.e. Kronos, ADP, etc.)
TS 16949/ISO-14001 Awareness
Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong listening and communication skills.
Demonstrates ability to give both positive and negative feedback
