Job Description

Job Purpose:

To lead, inspire and motivate the Communications organization  to courageously and innovatively develop sales and marketing communication systems that build awareness, education and positive image of the company and its products.

Duties:

  • Assist the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications with strategic planning, development and coordination of all sales and marketing communications programs to promote products and further the company’s sales objectives.
  • In partnership with the VP of Marketing and Communications and other relevant stakeholders or process owners, lead the development, approval, and implementation of corporate communication for internal stakeholders (Employees), external stakeholders (sales consultants, as well as the end customer/hostess), the community and media, including websites, print media, e-training, special events, and other materials.
  • Create synergy and integration between all sales and marketing initiatives including websites, email marketing, search engine optimization, search engine marketing, social media, print media, training materials, etc.
  • Work closely with the web development group on web functionality and design.
  • Stay on the forefront of communications technology and continually push for innovation and change that will positively impact the business.
  • Support and manage departmental agenda setting, prioritization and resources allocation, balancing short and long-term needs/priorities.
  • Develop and manage departmental budget to maximize impact of Communications
  • Department goals pertaining to team development and furtherance of initiatives.
  • Development of internal, sustainable Communication capabilities through evaluation, mentoring, training and development of the Communications team.
  • Maintain a positive attitude that promotes creativity, risk taking, teamwork and a favorable image of the company.

 

Education:

Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree preferred.

 

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 10 years of brand communications experience in a fast-paced consumer oriented marketing environment with demonstrated success of building strong brands. Direct selling industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of corporate communication experience targeting multiple audiences internally and externally, including the community and media.
  • Experience in developing web content and managing internet marketing and social media initiatives.
  •  Experience driving innovation and change as well as building teams that are organized, disciplined, and focused on delivering results.

 

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, and have a strong understanding of the P&L side of the business.
  • Proven ability to formulate affective outbound communications content to maximize intended impact.
  • Proven ability to transform current marketing trends and information into profitable strategies for the business.
  • Strong organizational and people skills, the ability to effectively create and deliver presentations, the ability to set appropriate priorities and use time effectively.
  • Demonstrated analytical, creative, problem solving skills focused on driving for results. Must be able to effectively work in a team environment with a natural inclination toward coaching, developing and motivating others
